This show is so bad that it's good. They take every cliche from every mecha show of the last decade and put it all together with often hilariously cringe-worthy results. But, this show keeps entertaining me, so i can't bring myself to stop watching.(the good production values help too)

Reminds me of Gulty Crown, while I finished the show, and was vastly dissapointed in how horribly cliche it was; encompassing many shiny 'pieces but never making a 'whole' of anything (mainly the story.) It had enough visual flair, enough ass pulling to keep me hooked JUST enough to go "Yeah, one more episode, then I can drop it" and I remember especially holding in high regard what was the high point of the show (episodes 13-17... well, the last 3 minutes of episode 17 brought the biggest cliche and ass-pull combined with NO decent explanation whatsoever...) as some great moments the show ever had.
Going back for a second viewing, especially those episodes, I realized how badly I had those heavily tinted rose colored glasses stuck to my face... The entire show was a train wreck of a mish-mash of ideas that none ever really panned out to form a barely coherent story. Character development was haphazardly inserted in failed attempts to make the audience care about what was happening to person X and have them adapt personality Y the next episode for no reason other than "I think this will sell, let's add this here and see what happens."
Character designs/animation was top notch.
Music, particularly the OP and ED themes were really well done. (Cant say the same for the insert themes throughout the show sadly...)

Wonder what's up with the recent tragedy themes as of late? Like Muvluv, or Attack on Titan (although the author stated he may change his original plan which was to have everyone die in the end, mainly due to popularity of the series).
