This was actually a pretty interesting series. I look forward to season 2 and the development of the characters and how the progression of the relationship with the Hideauze/Whale Squid develop.
I liked it until they went all 'don't kill these pirates with laser precision, it's inhuman, let them kill some of us first while fire ineffectually back, killing some of them, before you chase them away so they either return to kill more or go murder weak people without a hero to protect them.'
'Why'd you protect us in the first place anyway? You're getting pirates killed! I uh... I mean us in trouble, which is the problem because what we care about is pirates dying.'
I'm sure it got better again after that, but it put me so off it's been really hard to get back.
and lemme guess, the explosion referred to later that killed Chambers was probably because of their assnuttery 'humanism'
Oh well, not like the world isn't doing the same thing with the Somali pirates, but this is a far more marginal society, there really shouldn't have been enough survival margin at all to allow the evolution of such foolish attitudes.
The first couple episodes were great, then it was all down hill from there. Thought the ending was pretty lame and predictable... like I had seen it before.
i came in looking for /m/, i had to wait until the last episode just to see /m/ again
next season everyone dies.
Shogo Makishima already died for the sake of everyone. All characters in the Urobuchiverse shall now be spared!
and why am i still now ALLOWED to play starcraft II?
now = not
Maybe we get a prequel how Chambers was build or a sequel when the people of earth are advanced enough to lift Chambers and reactivate him. Really, Chambers is the best girl.
Chamber was completely destroyed in the explosion, there's nothing to salvage. Ledo did escape in the cockpit when Chamber ejected him but I'm guessing that's not enough to work with.
Maybe another pilot could end up stranded on earth and have Ledo there to help this time?
erm... in the credits of the last episode, you see him underwater, covered by squid infants, but unmoving.
he *seemed* mostly intact...
yea i thought he was using chamber to communicate with them
I suspect the whalesquids and their nanobots will play a much bigger role in this new season.
Also, the last episode hinted at a possibility of establishing communication between humans and whalesquids.
Oh yeah forgot that. Went back to watch the explosion and it didn't even look like anything falls into the ocean. No splash or anything. But yeah they do show him at the bottom of the ocean you're right, hm.
Chamber itself is an A.I. ..
Maybe if you find a new body to matrix
some version prototype hidden somewhere..
The question is who will be the enemy this 2 season?!
My Body Is Ready
Are you fucking kidding me?
just hand over plastic surgery
Well....I'm expecting something good out of it. Especially, if the production team remains about the same with Naruko Hanaharu as the character designer. I just HAD to watch the first one a few weeks ago, because the finnish Anime-lehti(literally "Anime-magazine") pretty much shat on the series and gave it a hard whipping. Of course, my opinion was the polar opposite.
Urobuchi's magnificent work would be nice to see on this one, too...
Need more Bellows! i agree of this 2nd season.
Bellows is mai waifu.
weird! the ending of the first season seemed pretty final to me O_o i wonder how they'll continue it
There's still a big war raging in space!
EVERYONE AGAINST AMERICANS; LISTEN; THEY DO NOT WAR!
THEY ARE HAVING PEACE!
I don't doubt that Americans want peace - from Ellemere Island to Tierra del Fuego. But not the U.S. government. Not the multinational megacorp whoredawgs that pull the strings on the U.S. government puppet. They make more war than ANYONE IN THE WORLD!
DOWN WITH EMPIRE!
DOWN WITH EMPIRE!!
DOWN WITH EMPIRE!!!
me wants more saaya
A second season would be great and all but what would it be about? I feel that the first season ended pretty much on a good note despite not resolving any of the conflict that goes on in space.
The show was good though it had its downs when it almost sank into emo-abyss shortly before the end.
As long as there's more of those sexy girls and awesome title cards by H-manga artists, I'm sold.
When I watched through the first season I actually thought "woah this anime ended so well! even though it was good, for once I feel there's no need for a second season" and it was propably the first time I've ever thought anything like that(at least when it comes to 10-13ep animes and I've watched literally hundreds of them).
And now it gets one. O___o
Not complaining.
So, what happens to Chamber?
I hope they get his memory core and merge it with Gargantia.
Yay! More bellydance!
FUCKING SHIT ANOTHER SEASON ABOUT GUYS RAVING OVER BROWN SHITTY SKIN CANCER TAN GIRLS
But...the mech is dead...
prequel?
if you are using that logic, then every hit from the bong is a maxed out empowered highest repair spell aviable cast on myself from DDO.
he wouldnt die under this circumstances.
the guarentee to stay alive is 95%: if he still dies, then it is indeed considered unfunny.
Yay! Can't wait to see more of Amy! :D
Maybe the sequel will actually be entertaining and not just another weak story stretched over 10+ episodes.
Yay! The obvious fanservice episodes aside, it was a very neat series, very fun to watch. One of my favs aside from the Academy City series (Railgun/Index), Attack on Titan, Fate universe and Psycho-Pass.
(And Robotics;Notes, and Girls und Panzer, and Strike Witches (lots of plot there >><<), and Vividred Operation and Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu.
Psycho-Pass too get S2. Yay for more moe Akane!
THEY BETTER FUCKING GET TOGETHER THIS TIME! Although, the idea of this series without Chamber...is just so saddening...
According to ep. 14 he mysteriously managed to un-self-destruct himself.
They can always salvage something, but I'm more interested in Hideouse now and the new relations between them, I find this more fascinating than Chamber, although his translations and interferencing was quite amusing :)
pretty sure that was a side story in the middle of the series.
Melty's butt.
Melty for best girl
Dat ass Amy.
How could I forget that belly dance?
Easy. You got slapped and reslapped.
