Touted as the ultimate figure for her most die-hard fans, this tiny bikini edition figure of busty Nitroplus mascot Sonico is measured at colossal 1/2 scale and made with polyresin, and is due out this July, from A-TOYS.

My big question is "is it cast-off?"

To look at it, it's clear that the clothes are cast separately, and there's even some "give" between the figure and the clothes therefore. But can they be removed? And is it detailed underneath, or smooth as a Barbie doll?

That's the tipping point for me.

given that it is Super Sonico from "Hentai land", given the colossal flockage of otaku fans for this IP, AND given the price of that thing, I can guarantee you that it is likely as detailed below that clothing as one would expect/hope.

I wanted it too but this is the first figure my wife's ever said no to. The Misaka and Kuroko 1/4 scale figs I have on order are the biggest I'm allowed and anything bigger might lead me into being a creepy doll collector.

As a consolation prize, she's hinted that next Saturday could be one of our sex cosplay nights so I have a week to track down a white bikini, red contacts, and pink hair dye.

Lucky man :) Anyways, I believe that figure collecting can be rationalized... I mean, I've been to homes where people keep classic nude statues from Ancient Greece or India, many of which are just as big as this if not bigger than 1/2 scale figures. I think if you're not ashamed and are completely open about it, if you don't think less of youself for your hobby, then it doesn't matter what other people think... but it's certainly good to at least know one person who still understands and respects you.

This figure looks very nice and tempting, but I've already got a 1/2 figure and I think it's better to reserve 1/2 figure spots (if you can afford and accommodate them) for special characters. Super Sonico has always been attractive to me but she's not one of my favorite characters. I'm just glad that my girlfriend also loves my choice in choosing the 1/2 Cattleya for that spot, lol. My gaming/anime room will proudly display it, haters be damned.

i can imagine the archeologists of the future exploring the ruins of our civilizations, and finding this figure. i am sure they will think it was some sort of
fertility goddess, and finding more similar figures will make them reach the conclusion that there must have been a worshipping of this deity's.
And i guess their conclusions won't be off mark.

Many will complain about the face, but those with good painting skills and some TLC should be able to bring the true value out from this sub 400~ GK. Its a great buy for a 1/2 resin model
