The latest exhibition of the Japanese army’s moe arsenal saw 2 “ita-heli” sporting moe girls on display to the general public – only the latest of Camp Kisarazu’s efforts to impress the world with its ability to paint pretty girls on the side of their old choppers.
The event was attended by bandwidth-challenged journalists but few otaku it would seem:

Do they shoot moe moe kyun beams?
ahaa i was think the same xD
I think they shoot mi-mi-mikuru beamu!
I like the Homucopter.
Girls und Helis
I'd watch it.
Ah-64 is best waifu!
Girls und Choppers
I don't know why people think this is weird. American aircraft has sexy cartoon-esque girls painted on the side during WW2.
Also they're in the air moving at fast speeds... they aren't really seen unless coming in close for support and never close enough to tell out designs on the thing anyway. So nothing wrong with a paint job really.
Painting a large, brightly-colored anime girl on your camouflaged fuselage seems a wee bit counter-productive.
really though, camo that is intended to match up with a forest background really isnt going to help all that much when the thing is in the bloody sky....
You can't camouflage helicopter for day sky, so it's either forest/desert camo to better hide it when on ground, black paint so it's harder to spot at night, or no paint at all, like Navy and Marine Corps helicopters.
It does increase armor class against otaku soldiers though... and World Otaku population is increasing at an exponential rate.
No otaku will be able to shoot their waifu with bazooka...
while it's true for combat heli, yet a good idea to be implemented on search and rescue heli.
The Rescue Homucopter is hard to miss.
"Death By Moe" has never been so apt.
Shock N' Moe.
Drop the moe bombs!
Let The Moe Hit The Floor, Let The Moe Hit The Floor, Let The Moe Hit The Floor, Let The Moe Hit The Floor, Let The Moe Hit The Floor, let the moe hit the... FLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!
Look at all those AH-1 MOEbras their otaku military has.
Killing people with rockets is sooo moe
DAmn!! The enemies will be caught off guard, after seeing this, they'll be rolling on the ground laughing.
These tubes, do Japanese Cobras still use TOWs, or those helis had no combat capacity since 90's anyway?
"These tubes, do Japanese Cobras still use TOWs, or those helis had no combat capacity since 90's anyway?"
Depends on what you understand as Combat capacity, since vs Otaku its super effective.
These are all just public relations/"career day" paint schemes. It's to boost the military's image and maybe even get a few gullible, dumb otaku to join the army. There is literally no chance in hell any JGSDF unit would fly a helicopter into combat painted like that.
I wouldn't be so sure if I were you.
Dumb comment. Backed up by absolutely no argument whatsoever.
Okay.......so you're flippantly assuming that the Japanese army is willing to send an attack helicopter in to battle which can be identified VISUALLY a good 3 miles SOONER thanks to it's BIG BRIGHT NEXUS OF BRIGHT ORANGE MOE on the MIDDLE OF IT'S FUSELAGE???
Enemy: "BEAUTIFUL aim point. Thank you VERY MUCH JGSDF. We'll take it from here. BOOM!"
JGSDF: "Dammit. Our MOE didn't come through this time."
The Japanese have the 3rd largest economy in the world----SECOND in per capita terms. Give them SOME credit.
I used to have a book about WWII aircraft nose art. Crews stationed in far off nowhere would paint their favorite pinups on the side of their planes. When the war ended and things got back to more or less normal, base commanders put an end to it.
is 4ATH a sad attempt at spelling 48th????
It means it's part of the 4th Anti Tank Helicopter squadron.
4ATH= Fourth Attack Helicopter
some terasawa buichi could have been nice too
That's something that always bugged me. For a country that is so openly hostile towards otaku lifestyle, they sure go out of their way to rub in the ridiculousness.
Looks like they are intent on sacrificing those who indulge in that kind of lifestyle first.
Seems like some sort of plan to lure Otaku into joining the military, <.<
I agree, Japan must be running short of manpower due to aging population
Imagine going to war with these. laughing stock of the world.
Until they start opening fire on someone, then it's not so funny anymore. A practical use for moe girls on helis.
Still doesn't erase the fact that you have gay ass little girls painted on your attack chopper that drops its coolness to negative 9001.
>you have gay ass little girls painted on your attack chopper
lol
gay girls and lesbian boys next huh?
maybe your Pama and your Mapa didnt work that out with you?
Dead people can't complain.
>you have gay ass little girls painted on your attack chopper
They're not totally gay girls, they're more like bicurious girls.
Yuricopters beat roflcopters any day
Mortal moe moe!
The only thing more scary than a shark face is an anime girl.
Seriously, how do I intimidate my enemies with moe..
You dont intimidate them, you make them fall for you (maybe with moe bullets...)
You can slap my ass and call me a regular but I fucking love the demon face the most.
If it ain't kawaii
it shouldn't fly
they should just put "red ribbon" simbol
