i really wanna check the blue ray, but first tell me
WHICH ONE IS THE BD VERSION!!???
That sure is a good question.
It's obvious the left one is the BD version. The right ones have more contrast (which isn't always for the better), but the actual quality of the drawings are very distinct especially with the close ups.
I've checked the tv versions; and I'm pretty sure the blu-ray versions are on the left.

Probably the left are more slight differences ,on the other hand been decreased color.
A few more curves and patterns on clothes .. But where is the sexy extra scenes?

At launch trailer I expected a little more sexy for being an OVA.
Hopefully the third season does not follow that rhythm..
I am actually happier with the TV gamma. Somebody, oblige and encode it with the TV gamma in mind.
The right one is horrible. Get a better gamma calibration (computing reference 2.2).
I will say that the left (BD) is slightly dull, but the right is crushed.

I've always preferred the TV version of the monogatari series to the BD not that there is that much difference.
What TV version? Both seasons had unanimated scenes in TV. And there are always a lot of differences.
I havn't seen the TV version of the 2nd season, but I can tell you that, at least in the 1st season, there have been major cutouts througout every single battle.
The BD has alot more "gore" than the TV version. Though, they did it in a way you don't actually notice.
