It was always slightly awkward taking an Atelier game with Kishida Mel's artwork up to the checkout. The clerk would always look twice at the game.

Me: "I'd like a copy of Atelier Meruru"
    Gamestop employee: "what?"
    Me: "ME-RU-RU"
Gamestop employee: "Found a copy of ehh... whatever it's called with an M...."
    *awkward silence*

    I know, right? Let's see:

--single white female feminism, which amounted to
***false rape accusations that lead to lynchings in 19th century Deep South USA
***financial ruin among men in their own society
***the support of eugenics (most people don't know the so-called classic feminists were in closet racists and eugenicists) Yes, Virginia Woolf is those two AND an anti-Semite
***Victorian Puritanism during the heyday of Imperial England, where they sexually frustrated men to the point the latter resorted to going overseas for women, sodomy in the Royal Navy, to the point the joke is: "Rum, Scurvy, and Sodomy run the Royal Navy". Oh, and the whole "me love you long time" crap.

Awesome question, Gradius. I think that it has to deal with Australians not being able to contemplate that, contrary to popular belief, pre-teens and teens are sexy to a lot of people.

So they automatically mark anything that exposes that simple truth as R-18.

I think it's funny and ironic that they're saying that lolis should only be enjoyed by those over 18+, when ideally this stuff should be for the people who look the same age as the girls within..

Nothing going on in the world so he needs to take out his anti-Australia vendetta to generate traffic, this is what we call 'lazy journalism', spin something completly irrelevant to anything just to get people talkin'.

Rather than spewing bullshit, maybe people should wait and see how the classifications board reponds to queries.

To both anons: the classification board of Australia just ridiculed themselves with the R18+ rating of Totori+, previous game in the series. I'd say Artefact's speculation is not so much baseless.

And your sarcasm detector is broken beyond repair.

I think I'd buy a console solely for such a game... but my demands are too high. It'd had to be localized in english but NO english dubbing... subtitles and text only. Anyone care to share if such an option is available?

    11:49 28/02/2013 # ! Neutral (+0.2)

Uh..... PS3 versions of Atelier series localized in North America have Japanese voice/sub options.

So no, your demands are not too high. You would be able to find that out pretty easily if you did any research (NIS specifically almost always gives a Japanese voice/sub option in their games)

Weither or not the PS Vita versions get imported, no one really knows yet I think, at least not that i know of. There is no region lock on a Vita, so you can always import it (and if you have a Vita, you SHOULD be importing games, because most of the good Vita games atm are Japanese release only so far.

NIS games usually are localized that way (at least as an option, if I remember correctly). I prefer Japanese dubbing too, since I'm not a native English speaker.
Just check review sites after the western release, you'll probably find what you like.

MOST games as of late have options to swap between english/japanese dubs, I would imagine this is the same.
