If you want to deconstruct the genre, you only need realistic 14 year old girls instead. Bonus points if they end up kidnapped, turned into lab rats, and their powers reverse engineered for burly supersoldiers who fire automatic rifles instead of friendship beams. Come to think of it, I’d pay to see that.
