Someone blew up your store/parents you’ll depend on insurance but if you don’t have those you can sue the estate of the person responsible. A slight variation of law could the extent of responsibility to individual or larger immediate family.

Somewhat like borrowing money from banks or loansharks or mafia just to move the money over to your spouse or sister before you kill yourself. They’d transfer the liability over to the spouse / sister and have her pay.
