Ummmm…the characters overall look closer to the manga (except the Major maybe). Look at the manga, the art wasn’t phenomenal to begin with and there is definitely room for creative interpretation. The GITS anime character design was a marked departure from the manga to begin with (not necessarily a bad thing).
