Too far down the uncanny valley for me. I’ve been hoping they’d put out DLC to fix the faces and unmottle their skin, but they haven’t, so I’m not touching it – I already have DoA games where they haven’t screwed up the fighting mechanics.

  I played Evil Zone/Eretzvaju, but it didn’t make much of an impression on me when it was new… Actually I think I found it pretty bad, but maybe I’m confusing it with Gowcaizer… either way, I only rented it.

  Thanks. I agree DoA2 was the peak. You don’t need 6 attack buttons and an intricate combo system to make a solid fighting game – I played DoA2 with friends for years and we still encountered new animations and scenarios sometimes when attacking sides/backs. It was actually better than most modern fighters since it was about the exchange of blows, blocks, throws and counters rather than who can get the first hit off to chain into a 50 hit combo for half the match – that’s just recitation.   All shows could have a similar drop rate, making the most watched the most dropped… Not saying they do, but something like this is always a factor to some extent if you’re talking raw number of people who dropped each.

  They might as well… They’re known for making games with stupidly high production values, and they tried to do that half-assed with cheap labor and it didn’t work… Well, if they’re not willing to do what it takes to make a flagship title, they may as well go into retirement and make little cheap games like any other upstart.
