Contrary to popular myth, America was not the last country to own slaves and several parts of the world still practice slavery. The only difference is that their governments denounce slavery as an illegal act, then ignore the problem or label it as something else.

Like the children of Reunion, whom were brought into France to farm for nothing and subject to abuse from their ‘host families’. The slaves working in North Korean labor camps. The ‘bonded’ workers of India.

Also Mauritania abolished slavery in 1981, it was the last country to make slavery illegal. Not that it matters, when being in forced bondage and taken from your homes, to work against your will, is still perfectly legal, throughout the world.
