14.8% is actually a pretty low number in my opinion, Even if the figure is actually closer to 20% then thats ONLY 1 in 5 women! Japanese women arn't too shabby when you think about it.

as some one who has lived in japan for 3 years(still here) as an English teacher let me tell you some things, this place is quite NTR during the 3 years I have slept with 6 married women(2 of them I still see 3 of them were to the mothers of the very children I teach 1 was a woman I met while waiting for the train and she got knocked over and me being the nice guy at the time helped her) these woman either easily get bored with their lives and want excitement because of their boring sex or sexless lives they need an outlet others need that outlet from the stress of their husbands never home or their children or jobs even, one of my students mothers told me this " my husband like most Japanese men are absorbed with their work he is rarely home and when he is he doesn't get there he is usually drunk and goes straight to bed and is gone before I get up, I hate being alone so I would go to men for the attention I felt that I as a woman deserved, the last time I actually had a passionate night with my husband would've had to been 3 months ago(this conversation happened like a year ago)and I honestly don't feel guilty over it because it helps keep my family stable." I, as a moral man, feel somewhat guilty for taking these women but in the overall spectrum of romance here. As a red blooded man,I feel proud of myself for giving these women what they want and that is get thoroughly fucked multiple times ( i'm sure i might have gotten at least one pregnant cause homie don't do rubbers). ok let me wrap it up here before I keep going in an endless rant. Since when was 14.8% a huge number? The flip side of that number is that 85.2% of Japanese housewives claim they have never had an affair.

Keep in mind when reading the above article that all of the referenced statistics are a subset of the 14.8% of women who admitted to cheating in the survey.

I'm of the opinion that the only thing keeping most people from being happy in a relationship is themselves. If having sex with more than one person is your thing, let your partner know early on. If they're receptive to the idea (and a surprising number of people are if you're direct with them) then you can experiment together, responsibly. If they're not receptive and it's something that you really want, then you know that you probably need someone who is a better fit for your needs. Either way, you've resolved the issue fairly, rather than going behind your partner's back.
