Ghost in the Shell 1 and Akira are great and all, but they are pretty damn dated now.

meh. I can understand the top choice, it is a great movie, but the rest seem very… well, they seem like they’ve been chosen simply because the series is popular at the moment. And by that I mean K-On shouldn’t be number 2 But beyond that one odd choice I can understand the rest of the choices, even if I don’t exactly agree with them.

So it’s dumplings before flowers again, as with the hint the title gives you, huh? The movie still feels like a step in the right direction. And you can watch it in installments.

You missed Summer Wars, and this is the only one I know apart from The Disappearance – and I prefer the latter any day of the week. I was disappointed with how the premise of SW was being implemented from almost just after the very good start. Something far more serious and convincing was in order. Plus, most of the characters, main girl excluded, give off a very repulsive aura, almost like it was some western production.

My immediate reaction was that this must be the work of the director of Tesagurebu, and indeed it is, as no one else would ever do this type of craziness. Ishidate Koutarou specializes in live performances by voice actors which are then given an anime-shaded 3D animation, to various degrees of success.

  • Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization A Real Grind:
graphics are expensive. the reason japanese games look like shit is because they devs dont see beyond their home market and their home market is too small to support modern standards. games like final fantasy can afford to push boundries because they are a global minded product and is intended for worldwide consumption. sword art online on the otherhand doesnt interest anyone outside of japan besides a specific set of anime fans.
