Comment on Lightning Returns: “But She Looks Like A Joke Now!” by HouseLife:

I really enjoyed the subtlety and focus of the first two games. Most people hate them for pretty stupid reasons, but even I won’t defend Nomura’s decision here.

Granted I’m not against them trying new things since haters will hate no matter what they do and that’s already been proven. But the benefit is at least you can change her outfit apparently in this game. At least based on what a friend told me.

I refuse to even watch the trailer so I can buy the game without any preconceived notions about it and let my actual play experience be my own. The outfit won’t ruin the game for me at least, but hopefully it’s got purpose. I just want to see the completion of the trilogy, because it is an exceptional game series so far.

And you missed the part where I specifically said I will not do any research or watch anything related to the game so I buy it and start it with a clean perception. Unlike many of the morons peppering the internet, I actually do in fact form my own opinions about something and ignore all the stupid people until I form that opinion. Bitching about something before it’s even begun has wasted a lot of my time in the past where I listened to peoples’ opinions and they turned out utterly incorrect, …

There was definitely subtlety. I wasn’t speaking about designs or things like that, but the actual acting. I honestly don’t care whether people liked the acting or characters or not, but there are two things that are true: The acting was solid, and there was a lot of unspoken emotion that was conveyed very well. If you didn’t feel it, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t there to feel if you wanted to. Characters or scenario may not be to your liking, but it was there, and I respected it. People who …

If you haven’t played it, I really suggest you give it a shot rather than take on other peoples’ perspectives. If you have, well… sorry it’s not FF7? You can play that anytime you want.

If by ‘thing’ you mean really well-made JRPGs in a classic sense? Then I guess yes, but people don’t play it because it’s popular. They play it because it always, always has a standard of quality that constantly gets raised. Whether people don’t like their choices or not, the quality increases on a constant basis whether they like it or not. They just bitch and moan too much to actually pay attention to that fact.

Sexual tension being built up can be done in many ways. Midnight Sleezy Train is one of the best I’ve seen. It caught me completely off guard by how hot the scenarios were, but by the end of the second episode, I was forgetting it was a hentai and was wondering what was going to happen in the end to the characters. And I loved the ending so much actually, it was exactly what I was hoping for. A character screwing everything female is not a lack of ‘depth,’ Highschool DxD kind of being the non …

Okay, for once these stills are truly good enough that I need to check it out to see if the animation quality matches at all. If it does, I will be incredibly happy. Mindless sex can be saved for the random doujin stuff. I want to see them basically make an anime that has sex and sensuality as a plot point… which some have done of course, but few do well. Kiss x Sis has still been one of the most erotic anime out there, hotter than probably every hentai I’ve seen because it was done right in …

That is a bit of a representation, though. That part is not as clearly conveyed because as with most artistic works they don’t like to hold your hand through it. The fact that it can represent both elements of it being a comment on anime’s spiraling, and also some people interpreting it the other way, whether ironically or realistically, is mainly a mirror for you to perceive how you think of reality. For me it’s showing what could be for anyone in the otaku lifestyle, the blatant nature of the …

Hey, look. It’s what Pokemon Snap should have been. The funniest part is I did game testing for D3, and I can already see what bugs would have to be looked for… and they would simultaneously be required to not be written up as clipping bugs, nor written up for ratings violations…

For a time, and thanks largely to being introduced to Circle Kuusou Zikken’s One Piece Nami doujinshi, I consider Nami to be one of the hottest girls in anime. It evolved because she’s a great character at least as far as I have seen, and that rounded her out to be gorgeous for me. That is for much of the early style, Oda and the anime got rather strange over time, same with Bleach, everything stopped looking as good to me. But my entire perception of how hot she was was peppered by that …
