Comment on Top 20 Seiyuu with the Sexiest Voices by Yamato:

I agree with Anon 11:00. I consider myself firmly against Kugimiya type-casting, but even I’d be willing to say that when she isn’t being type-casted, she’s actually quite good. Seriously, go watch her role in Rosario+Vampire, it’s hard to even tell that it’s her. I’d be willing to say that her standard voice is quite cute as well, but unfortunately, I can’t listen to it anymore without shitty characters like Louise and Aria coming to my mind. -_- Would be nice if I could displace such characters from my head at some point, because they’re about the only thing ruining her more decent roles for me.

@ Anon 22:17 While it is true that people should be left to their own personal tastes so long as they don’t interfere with others, I do think Anon 11:56 makes a point: some things tend to be overhyped because the people who like them never bothered to expand their horizons and experience stuff of arguably higher quality (or worse, some of them automatically assume that what they like is the best there is and outright refuse to give anything else a fair shot). Of course, people can like what …

@ Anon 11:45 I was just stating an example. Although, I did choose Mizore as my example because I find her to be the most far removed from Rie’s standard tsundere voice (at least out of the roles that I’ve heard so far), whereas with characters like Alphonse and Ikuto, it’s still somewhat easy to tell that it’s her. At any rate, they all demonstrate that the so-called “tsundere queen” can actually do something besides tsundere. In fact, much like any professional seiyuu, she’s actually landed a …

An irony must be noted in the fact that so many people bash on Nintendo, and yet one of their top system-sellers is a crossover featuring all of their IPs that these same people often claim to be too good for. Anyway, Smash Bros. still seems a good ways off, considering no release date has been announced at this point, so I’m hoping the Wii U’s sales pick up earlier than that. Pikmin 3 should certainly help this summer.

  • Top 25 Most Hoped For Anime Sequels:
I loved Kore Zombie’s 1st season. It was yet another harem series based off of a light novel, but it managed to avoid the usual trappings of focusing on some random moe antics involving the girls (some of whom, despite having some cookie-cutter personality traits, were actually justified in having them, like Eu being a silent stoic because a mere utterance from her could cause unwanted destruction) and instead devote a good deal of time to its plot (aside from the last episode, but I’d excuse …

seriously. They even went out of their way to announce it in-show at the end of the first season. And yet, it’s been how many years now? Why would they do that unless it was already in production?

  • Maid Cafe Numbers “Have Halved!”:
When I went to Tokyo, I wanted to go to a maid cafe, but I ultimately decided against it. I needed to conserve my money after spending a helluva lot at Comiket 78, and still needed some for the train ride back to the airport… as well as seeing the Zoroark Pokemon movie in theaters, buying me one of those kitsune masks, and a couple other random tidbits. Actually, I probably could’ve abstained from buying a couple video games while I was in Akiba… but ah well. From the sounds of it, it seems …
