Comment on Comiket Caves To Terrorism: “Rather Ban Than Cancel” by Anonymous:

Well, Japanese police don’t usually have guts to stand up to dangerous people, but if it has to do with prostitution, drunk driving (on a bike), or deadly threats (especially with gas, like the subway incident)… it seems they’ve at least got some of their priorities straight. You won’t see a lot of people attempting this without preparing a suicide note, just in case they’re caught.

In other words, it’s easy to threaten to get others to meet your demands, and it usually works. But the risk in getting caught is severe. You don’t want to go to Japanese prison. I don’t have personal experience there, but I studied quite a few cases. You can trust me on that.
