The degenerate behaviour of Japanese football fans has been roundly criticised after they ran amok in central Shibuya, blocking traffic and clambering over cars in a manner more reminiscent of common European football thuggery than the reserved support more usually associated with Japanese.

The mob blocked Shibuya’s famed scramble crossing in an unyielding throng, and were witnessed jumping on top of a hapless taxi and engaging in other raucous behaviour.

Online their antics earned them nothing but disgust, with anger at the police’s failure to arrest them and the usual attempts to claim they “were clearly not Japanese,” or at the very least were merely watery blooded bumpkins from outside Tokyo.

I heard some disturbing rumours about how some football fans in the UK don't care about the sport at all and just go for the fights afterwards.

Stop picking on the Irish. Isn't it bad enough people stereotype them as chronic, habitual drunks in other parts of the world?

"Some football fans in UK" = hooligans = Irish.

    Seriously?

If you're going to keep the silly stereotypes alive, could you at least not mash them all together.

Half the time "Irish football fan" doesn't even mean a fan of soccer; it means a fan of G.A.A.

Yes its a real sport. Its even on the PS2

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelic_Games:_Football_2

Correct way to troll the Irish:

Irish = English (not as effective as it used to be)
    "Ireland is not a country"
GAA = GAY (doesn't work on soccer fans)

Ways that don't work/Incorrect ways to troll the Irish

Irish are drunks (doesn't work. Anyone who isn't a drunk feels everyone else is)
Irish are thugs (doesn't work. Lower than average European crime)

There's always something interesting where there's a crowd, and you usually don't play football in throngs of that sort of caliber.

So draws can result, if the game is not a cup game.

"almost as bad as the English"

Excuse me, in order to be "almost" as bad as the English, there needs to be at least 5 flaming objects in a photo. Not including homosexuals for the cynical minded.

This includes, tires, beer bottles, trashcans, flags, shirts, hair and or shoes. For supporters of the winning team.

For supporters of the losing team, there is clearly not enough blood in these images.

Why can't all "riots" be this civil?

I'm sure they found other inappropriate ways to express their rancorous delight.

I saw the videos, based on that all I manage to see was the usual Artefact crap antics, outside the one guy who climb the taxi cab, what is exactly the hooliganism these people are making?
I'm sorry but I'm just seeing people celebrating, okay, they're not acting like the usual reserved japanese behaviour, but if you look at videos of Japanese fans during the World Cup you will see that they're acting pretty much like their usual.

BTW, hooligans are not real soccer fans, they're merely thugs who are using a soccer game as an excuse to beat and create as much mess as they can, 99% of the real soccer fans hate these pricks, this shit happens with many other sports and in many other countries too (look at records of hooligans with Hockey in Canada or AFL in Australia), the stupid people who say that they hate soccer because of hooligans don't know nothing about what being a soccer fan really means.

In Japan, you are hated if you're a football fan, you are shunned if you're an anime fan, and you are banned if you have a tattoo. They really want everyone to conform into mindless drones.

    Comment by Anonymous

No. It's because football fans act like the above story - like crazy hooligans. Anime fans don't do anything to advance the civilization and sit at home not doing anything but kissing their pillows, and the tattoo is probably because... I don't know. Maybe because tattoo's have a negative connotation to them. They mainly associate with gangs and stuff like that. Biker gangs and stuff. Not that everyone who wears a tattoo is a bad person, but I'm pretty sure the Japanese Yakuza all have tattoos on their bodies.
