GTAV “Has Best Graphics Yet”

Even the most moe-addled gamers have been forced to admit that newly released trailers of impending blockbuster Grand Theft Auto V show some of the most impressive graphics of any video game to date, even if it does seem they will be restricted to laughably low resolutions on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The trailers:

I laughed at how my classmate RUSHED to me while I was eating lunch then asked me to watch the latest GTA V trailer. Him saying that PCs are bad and controllers are better, I lol'd.

what make no sense is that you can buy a controller on PC... soo console... what?... don't have nothing better than PC.

That makes no sense since both needs to have a display, whether it's be a TV or a monitor.

You're going by controls, so this makes more sense...

    Console = controller
    Computer = keyboard & mouse

Some games are just better when you use a controller. 2D side scrollers, mostly. Controllers are often better for fast-paced control schemes like Mario or fighting games, while keyboards are better for more detailed control schemes like MMOs, and especially RTS.

I bought a controller for my computer, but I only use it for old ports.

with DS3 tool I use my PS3 controller on just about every game.

Because computer = monitor + keyboard & mouse way too mainstream.

Funny when people use the "controller" argument against PC gaming...because I use an XBOX controller connected to my laptop gaming rig (full compatable with Windows of course). My laptop is connected to my HDTV via HDMI cable. It is the exact same setup as my PS3, except my laptop is smaller in profile than my gaming console, but much more powerful.

It's nowhere close to the now half a decade old Crysis.

I don't mind if they claim something subjective like "best gameplay," but putting "best graphics" together with "console" is just unethical.

"Grand Theft Auto V show some of the most impressive graphics of any video game to date" - Artefact, Sankaku Nov 15, 2012.
I'm sorry, but in which does he state it's only the GTA franchise?
But of course, he's an idiot it's probably only his own opinion.

No infact Uncharted 2,Halo 4,Gears Of War 3,and Battlefield 3 are faaaaaaaaaar better!!!And my dear PC fanboy,Crysis has been ported on consoles too and, surprise surprise, has a better lightining and a lot better framerate compared to the best computer counterparts!!!

Did you actually ever look at a PC/console comparison of the Crysis port? They've massively scaled down the graphics in practically every way. The console port may feature some "altered" lighting effects, but they are hardly "better", and in most cases the changes look considerably less realistic, with blown highlights and oversaturated colors attempting to oscure the lack of detail. The foliage is far more sparse and less detailed, and tons of objects are missing from the the environment or simplified. Crysis on the PC looks nearly photorealistic, while Crysis on consoles looks like its running on the old Far Cry engine. They look like totally different generations of games.

I suspect you haven't actually seen any comparisons between the two, so here's a video comparison between the 360 and PC. It's probably best to view the video at 1080p, but even at low resolution the differences should be like night and day... []

    Forgetting the obvious:

"PC will always be better looking unless it's a crappy console port"

The whole dual release with the 360 and PS3 is just more of developers being lazy and not wanting to use all of the ps3's power/blu-ray's space..

Only in Sankaku an ignorant fanboy like you can achieve a positive reaction with a comment like this one, even Sony executives have stopped to tell this retarded crap that storage space makes graphic!!!For your information uncompressed texture are too heavy to be read from the slow speed of the PS3 Blu-Ray(even slower than 360's DVD drive)that's the reason because games need to be installed,so more space is totally useless unless you want to put in thousands of FMVs or a game plus film like it happened for Macross Frontier

Only in Sankaku CAN an ignorant glorified heater lover (XBOX 360) spout lies without even looking up the facts.

XBOX 360 DVD drive "maximum read rate of 15.85 MB/s"

    PS3 Blu Ray "read speed maximum is 2x 72 Mb/s" THAT..UNGHHHNM!

Before you troll read the facts, that way you can come up with a legit troll next time.

    1 you're retarted fanboy
2 you're not reading my posts
It's impossible for PS3 to elaborate high definition texture in real time reading directly from disc simply because blu-ray is too slow(like your brain),so the only solution is to install everything on HD and also manage everithing from disc require a lot more memory and processing power!!!Please next time learn before instead of voting down what you can't understand!!!

Games installed on the hard drive is a good thing. Hard drives are large these days, and reading data from an optical disc while playing a game is very old school.

    Comment by Anonymous

Troll are you indecent and ignorant! If you are more informed you should already know that PS3 BD drive read at maximum 72 Mbps per sec so the equivalent of 9 MB per sec(cause Megabit are 1/8 of Megabyte)...So shut up your mouth stupid Sony fanboy ang go out to learn something!!!

Are you born yesterday?Better graphic is obtained by a combined work of GPU,Ram and CPU!!!Blu-Ray is only a storage device, like an HD,USB memory stick and a DVD!!!

@12:01 Are you born yesterday? The point cats2 made was there wouldn't be any compression putting an entire full HD game on blu-ray if developers would use the console the way it was meant.

not compressing it wouldn't make the PS3 any more able to process graphics faster. cut scenes would look better; that is all.

Also what can you expect from a console like x360 which has more than 7 years, 512 mb RAM, GPU ATI xenos with 10mb!

The only thing holding this junk is the fact that three core!
The PC version will be better if not in DX9 port. But while this generation of consoles is not scrapped, fans of better graphics will keep complaining until his death.

Probably this GTA will be a mix of the most popular options for older versions to please a bigger slice of players.
That or the franchise will end up dying ..

I'm pretty sure GTA4 looked better on the PC than GTA5 looks in the trailer.

Textures look blurry, models are pointy(look at the apples!), shadows are blobs, resolution is 720p, and yet the consoles can only manage 30 FPS.

    Did anyone try Metro 2033?

I get the feeling that a big group of people just read the title and felt the need to post a comment based solely on that. While of course consoles do not match high-end PCs(and don't say even cheap ones can get it done, because you'll be spending over 700$), GTAV may be the best to date.

Now granted of course Crysis was a massive and beautifuly done game, I consider it a PC game first, but even there my 4-yo 700$ pc can only handle medium graphic settings, but at 1080res. Considering that Rockstar does a proper installment on PC, many will be seeing superior graphics on PC compared to consoles.

To end this, I will quote, "show some of the most impressive graphics of any video game to date." This does not claim it the best, the title of this article was meant to catch the reader's eye, which I believe it did quite smashingly.
