  actually I own the original PS3 that launched and it still plays ALL, my PS2 games, the only thing that pisses me off is they took away the ability to make it a linux based system…the first two iterations of PS3 were 100% backwards compatible with ps2 and mostly backwards compatible with ps1 game.
