The problem is, that by now any DOA female that was not amply ample would likely stand out so harshly as to look alien to the rest of the game. And that any genuinely flat character would end up looking like an attempt to cater to either the loli or reverse trap fetish groups.
Which... considering how the rest of the game isn't exactly above such things, hell they really should have such a character by now. Serious bonus points to them if they could make one that was likeable and actually didn't look like a straight up fetish plug character.

I'd love some DLC that would revert their faces to DoA 4 versions. Maybe even enough to buy this one. It's a tough sell though after DoA: Dimensions. That game was stuck on easy mode, but otherwise felt like DoA 2 again.

I agree on the characters. They look like shit. Too old, but more importantly, not cute anymore. It's like their bodies are too massive in comparison to their heads.
DOA5 characters > All the characters in older games. I much prefer the new designs over the old ones. So much more infact.

It's true it does seem more like button mashing now more than before, but I would hardly call 25 old (maybe because I'm getting older myself). On the other hand some of the characters do seem a lot more...moe than I remember them being, which, I can't believe I'm saying this, but not a good thing. But if you're talking about out of place characters, you can't get more out of place than putting a Spartan of all people in DOA4... Fun character though, especially her plasma grenade grab. Yeah, the story this time around was pretty junky, more like a pitstop for DOA6 or something. In the end, graphics up, most of everything else down.

How is this game? (gameplay wise)
It's actually a really good and strategic fighting game. The counter system means that you have to think about every strike, because your opponent just might catch on to you, counter you, and instantly turn the momentum in their favor. The pretty girls are definitely a plus, too. I don't see any reason to not have them the way they are.
Agreed. There's so many people who do not know how great the DOA series really is because they can't get past the boobies and actually give it a try. From the very beginning, DOA games have solid combat systems that got tweaked and improved upon with every sequel. This is truly a game meant for fun.
