Remember when Ash challenged the Viridian Gym. When team rocket made the battle more “challenging” by making the trainer feel what the pokemon feels when its hurt. And the fact that the some pokemon didn’t choose to go with trainers but were beaten to submission first then stuck inside a pokeball. And in the manga where hyper beams didn’t make a pokemon faint.. but die… :3
