Yea, but regardless the Japanese new of China’s claims, and instead of looking for a diplomatic exit no matter how much time this would take the japanese instead decided to further anger China and anger them in an almost insulting way.

No matter who was right or wrong if if Japan has current control over the islands they should have never bought islands in order to insult China.

If this was several decades ago this would have resulted in a war 200% guaranteed.

Also even if Japan has control over the islands, geographically they can belong to either China, Taiwan or even Japan despoite this last one being way more far from them, and only haging on the fact that they are closer ot okinawa.

While I dont defend either of the two nations, I think CHinas claim is not without merit either, as it ois thet of Japan and even taiwan, yea because the islands could very well be either territory and they have the right to defend that, if they are doing it the right way or not is another matter, for me Japan is further in the wrong, again for pretty insulating CHina with the recent deal.
