Air, Kanon, Clannad (the maserpiece), Angel Beats, Little Buster, Rewrite (probably in some years later after Little Buster) cramped in one and doesn't need to fill the list.
Angel beats invalidates your argument.
Of those, only Clannad could even remotely be argued as a "must see".. and then only because of After Story.

"Anything by Key!" was a great show, it should be way higher on that list.

No. Anybody knows they can't remember for longer than one season. And yes, this list is totally crap as usual.
I've noticed these lists are mainly filled with anime that have the type of fans that feel they need to make people aware of that anime's greatness. Kinda like religious fanatics.

K-ON appears in so many lists it's kind of hard not to know about it. lol

Yes, it does appear to be a very schizophrenic list. I do agree with basically everything on the list, just not the order of importance. But then again, what else is new, I gave up on lists long ago.
Well, I know K-ON! suck balls, every animefan should know this.
It's actually not short term memory, it's just that the new animes are generally better than the older ones.
How would these people even know, if they obviously haven't watched them?

Seriously give or take 4 or 5 of them most of these animes are at least 4 years old. Not really short term memory.
Just pretend this is a bunch of chan-loving 13 year olds talking to each other and it makes sense.
IB4 people complain about the list because they disagree with it.
Less about disagreement and more about having no idea why they should know these anime; because some kid who's only watched a few anime voted for them on some random list?

To be fair. This is a "should know" list. With K-ON's publicity, it's hard not to know.
No FMA (either version), no Hellsing Ultimate, no Sailor Moon, no Cowboy Bebop, no Trigun, no Ghost in the Shell... yep list is crap.
You have me for most of those but... Trigun? Really? That mediocre piece of garbage? It had eight great initial episodes and then devolved into low-budget tripe. You may as well list Gokudo instead for all the fail it was.

Nobody talks or cares about Hellsing Ultimate and Trigun anymore. Anime fans aren't required to have seen Sailor Moon.
This isn't your personal favorites list.
I'd go with the original Hellsing before Ultimate, but otherwise yeah.

There usually on every list. Im just kinda surprised that Ano Hana wasn't there on the list with these ones
The fun thing, they appear in both best and worst anime lists. And always take top marks.
I understand that there´s a pretty big divide betwen America, EU and Japan when it comes to what should be considered "essential" wiewing, but any such list missing Lupin III, Leiji matsumoto, Go nagai, Ozamu Tetsuka and Rumiko takahashi is severly lacking.
Otaku, remember your roots!
The people that contribute to these lists can't be called "otaku". They're just kids who think they know things. Otherwise they wouldn't pretend the stuff on the lists represents weighty concepts like "anime you should know"
