These attitudes the Japanese seem to have toward bullying & how to handle it seem to be similar to the attitudes many Blacks seemed to have in America prior to the civil rights movement when White people beat, jailed, raped, or killed them: Take the abuse, cry to yourself or God out of sight of man, hope nothing else happens too soon, try to go about your business like nothing ever happened, and pray someone else somewhere else comes along to actually do something about it.
