Many of those are running around in my country nowadays.
I prefer its rival Ninja, though. The new CBR reminds me of a... tadpole (big head, small tail), the silver-colored spokes make them look cheap, and my slightly-modified 2-stroke Ninja 150RR still accelerates better.

I'm talking about the RX-7 and the Cosmo, for example. These were undoubtedly innovative. But And even if you've never driven either an AE86 or a Supra, they were innovative and special as well. Both of them had exceptional handling, while remaining relatively cheap, for example. This was one of the factors that contributed to the international rise of Toyota. Tell me a Japanese car from today that is fun to drive, easy to maintain, and doesn't cost the price of a family home. Heck, they don't even make proper RWD cars any more (apart from a very few, and very expensive exceptions), since they've discovered during the 90's that all the zombies fell for the marketing shit will buy FWD shitboxes for the price of a real car, without complaining, so instead investing in research and development, they can keep the extra money for themselves (or buy sticking accelerator pedals from the west from it). And besides, you must be one of those retards who whorship those so-called German "cars". Go home Kraut, and be happy with your gay A4. If you're lucky, you can go beyond 60 MPH with it without seizing the engine.

What cars are you speaking of?! If you say Supra or AE86, I'm going to kick you in the balls. All the 80s produced where square boxes with wheels. They were reliable, but that's all they had going for them. Producing an underpowered car, then beating the shit out of it is not "innovative".

can't really say K-ON! started the trend, though. I'm pretty sure it was in Kannagi before it, amongst others. Anyway, what bugs me is that this design style seems to be infecting everything nowadays. It's even evident in some Pokemon Black/White characters.
