Cool your jets, man. It's not like this is the only show out there that starts with a bang and then calms down right after. Many anime are like this, where they are played out like a very long movie rather than each individual episode being different. There's a story, you at least have that if you're not into the rest of it. Just have a little patience and the action will kick up again.

I like that this show, even though it's got hot girls, doesn't overdo it with the fanservice. In a way, it's respectful to it's viewers. :)

anime lost all purpose after the 3rd episode. Its filler, sucky uninteresting filler and I doubt when the action begins it will be much better. They are going to concentrate on that stupid rivalry between Nato and Russians. Anime is so frustrating, started with such a bang and desperation. Yet how could so much time past with the world not completely covered by those creatures.

Yes, G-bomb saturation of the Eurasian continent causes a gravitational phenomenon which sinks the Eurasian continent and turns of the opposite side of the planet into an uninhabitable sand plain.

Most of humanity dies and the only habitable land lies between the ocean and the sand plains (e.g. Seattle << but is being fought over US/JP vs Canada/France. BETA survived too.)

A bunch of spaceships head off to a nearby star system too but humanity is pretty much fucked in the Unlimited timeline.

Alternative time line however is a different story altogether... I still doubt they survived though.

I'm looking forward to next week. That's gonna be some weird atmosphere when he gets back after Cryska having asked that to the Lt. As someone with a particular weak spot for silver/white haired beauties I'm enjoying this show quite a bit. They are a rare but fantastic delicacy for the eyes.
