@Anon 12:21 — That would be a good point, if cigarette smokers’ habits only affected themselves. But they don’t. Beyond the usual hazards of secondhand smoke, there’s also smokers’ “the world is my ashtray” attitude that forces someone else to pick up their toxic litter. Or there’s the carpeting and paint that has to be replaced when heavy smokers move out of rental properties, usually after screwing over their landlords because getting their nicotine fix takes priority over paying rent. Or the fact that smokers make for annoying, unproductive co-workers if they don’t get smoke breaks every half hour, leaving their non-smoking colleagues (who *don’t* get similar on-the-clock downtime periods) to pick up the slack.

tl; dr fuck smokers, they don’t care about anyone else, why should anyone else care about them?
