You're not the only one, although this anime is indeed severely underrated. Nice production values, well-balanced male/female cast with interesting personalities, and a story to tell... what more could you ask from a soap opera-type slice-of-life? It could actually be among the best this season along with Kokoro Connect, Muv-Luv Alternative and _maybe_ Sword Art Online.

Well sorry, I've started reading the novel way before the anime was announced. I'm not psychic. Or are you implying one should never read LNs, VNs and manga in case they get adapted some day?
WHich is why in most cases, and definitely in this one, why "Anime First" is usually the more enjoyable of the two. Zero Prior Content, and everyone is equally surprised/satisfied/etc. :)

maybe...but you had to have seen the severe limitations of the 2nd episode. I mean, it was such a rushed episode. The character motivations were barely sinking in before the scene was over. for example, the teacher was so convinced that konatsu didn't understand or appreciate the profound meaning behind the music that she actually snatched it out of her hand and put it away...only to give it back 30 seconds later. Why? We don't know, the scene already changed =P This is where I think HanaIro excels at because although we might not like what Sui is doing, we can at least understand where she's coming from
