Little do people realise, but they were bullying him because they thought that he was the Extra Person, and if they hadn’t bullied him to death (they were too afraid to kill him directly, because they didn’t want to be murderers) they would all have died over the course of the school year. It’s the curse of class 3-B, and that’s why the school is covering it up. That the family remembers him is a glitch in the curse.
