This show feels like .Hack// series with The Matrix living rules, which are :
Death in Virtual World == Death in Reality World; you can be a superhuman in this virtual world although you don’t know about fighting; and you can’t force disconnect or you’re dead.

But actually, SAO is written in the same time of .Hack//Sign, so it is not influenced by .Hack//
The author said that this story is influenced by Ragnarok Online & Ultima Online.

Also, the story isn’t focusing at the game’s world. Later, the story will take place in the reality world with some scene about pseudo-incest romance, triangle love, greedy richman, AIDS issue, and so on.

I suggest you all to read the translated light novel in baka-tsuki before judge the story by reading some troller comments in sancom.

Nah, the vast majority of girls in the game have slowly been killed off or seem to camp out in towns (side characters anyone?). I had kirito’s back when he told that lolicon to suck it, bitch you are a blacksmith npc; congrats, but I ain’t letting a npc touch my goods.

Transsexuals feel that they are really girls or guys inside, if that’s what they see themselves as, that’s what I see them as, too. I feel shallow, because I care about what people look like a little. But I don’t care so much about what people look like, that I would care about what they look like more than their avatar or who …

I think I’m the only one looking at this with intrigue towards the sleek user menus demonstrated in the game world. I’d love it if I found an MMO with such style, simplicity, and ease-of-use as is found in this.

As a general rule I always use female avatars when gaming. But I don’t hide the fact that I’m a guy. The basic logic behind this is as follows; I’m not gonna look at a dude’s pixel and polygon ass for 70+ hours of gameplay. Nuff said.
