yeah, I don’t get why Railgun is on there. I mean, I get that it takes place in the same world as Index, which definitely contains some fantasy elements, but Railgun focuses solely on the sci-fi aspects of that world. Though, maybe this was just an error: I’m going to assume several of the voters (and whoever runs the poll, for that matter) treated Index and its spin-off interchangeably, and Railgun was just more popular out of the two.

fucking seconded. Louise: easily one of the most shittily-handled characters I’ve seen in an anime. I heard a lot of the problems were the result of a crappy adaption on JC Staff’s part, though. Still, the fact that the anime version (and subsequently, anime Louise) is what’s popular really worries me. But to be honest, for the purpose of this poll, the world setting seems like it could’ve worked to some degree. It’s just a shame that we lost a lot of the focus on familiars and elemental …

@Anon 0:28 What? You mean to say that Jay Leno actually didn’t appear in a KEY series? T_T

(sorry for the double-post, wasn’t able to edit my previous one) Say, I just remembered: technically, shouldn’t Fullmetal count as a sci-fi? I mean, the world may seem like a fantasy at first glance, but whenever it comes to how the series’ token super powers actually work, Arakawa seems to know her chemistry. Though, I guess there is some “magic” of sorts involved (the ability to manipulate elements in the first place, for one), but I’d argue that it featured it no more than Outlaw Star did …

@Anon 21:43 Well, the creator has admitted to being a major fan of Super Robot Wars. Plus, when you consider that magic makes up pretty much all of their technical innovations, it’s easy to see Nanoha as something like SRW only with humans in place of machines. The flying and the flashy attacks capable of causing widespread destruction only help with that portrayal. “And it’s definitely NOT “fanservice lolicon”!” I’d like to think so, but honestly, those transformation sequences can be a tad …

Nintendo vs. PC…. yeah, I’d be all for having that console war.
- One Piece Cancelled Again as Eiichiro Oda Hospitalised:
it might even take longer depending on how things go. I recall one time, he stated that the Skypeia arc lasted a helluva lot longer than he was intending. But yeah, he’s had a decade and a half of build-up now. Last thing we need is to rush him and have EVERYTHING resolved in a few measly chapters (or even one year, which is a respectable amount of time but still a small fraction of this series’ lifespan). I’ve seen enough anime gecko endings to know that doing this often leads to pisspoor …

actually, he supposedly planned out the ending a long time ago.
- GungHo Worth More Than Nintendo: “Social Gaming Won!”:
An irony must be noted in the fact that so many people bash on Nintendo, and yet one of their top system-sellers is a crossover featuring all of their IPs that these same people often claim to be too good for. Anyway, Smash Bros. still seems a good ways off, considering no release date has been announced at this point, so I’m hoping the Wii U’s sales pick up earlier than that. Pikmin 3 should certainly help this summer.
