I have a hard time believing in Idolmaster’s victory were this the case. Strip the visuals from it and you really don’t get anything impressive.
And yet, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari was an ending theme and had sketchy, scribble visuals, so… maybe not all voters voted with the same criteria.
