The police officers/judges must be mentally ill,too, if they only shut in those who are harmless and let the really sick people run free on the streets (like rapists, sodomists, drug addicts[including alcohol] and those who still defend these vile creatures without any shame in the public).

Maybe the people in Japan realized this truth already,that's why they didn't even try to jail him,because there are like 100times more sick people out there who will never face any kind of prosecution!

As to nude photos, I think they would fall into the category of 'circumstantial evidence'.

If such nude pics of the two of them exist and were presented in evidence, they would make it more likely he would be convicted.

Please remember Japan's legal system is quite different than in the US.

Or it might be that she's already had the local police as customers; if they pushed the issue, she might have had to reveal that and then the cops would be in trouble too.

Other possibilities include a very big bribe or some favors called in or a promise to return the favor some way at a future date.

2nd, by the end of the day, i aint gonna argue about the fact that having sex with underage kids is ok. You will still get caught even if its mutual exchange/agreement between two party.

But the twist is this...those girl were not forced into it, and as the article said, the guy went home easily, not like in other country which giving severe penalty like death or life sentences

Nude photos are not evidence of them actually having sex unless, you know, the police have photos of them doing it. Strong suspicions are not enough to convict people.

If the police officers in question hate pedos with burning passion like most normal people, their testimony is just as suspicious as the accused's. It's not unprecedented that "upright citizens" have tried to take justice in their hands by lying on the stand to get the "bad guy" convicted. Go look around the Innocence Project's database if you want examples.

Don't put words in people's mouths. They mean kids don't have the experience to effectively weigh their options before performing something like prostitution.

Just because these kids find it an effective way to buy their wanted goods, just as any criminal in a tight bind decides to do so, doesn't mean anyone (in this case the client) can jump on it with just a slap on the wrist. You want to put aside morals and talk law, but using this case as an example, the law will find whatever evidence it can to make charges based on its own morals.
