Comment on AKB48 Otaku “Will Sue” Rino Sashihara for Fan Sex Betrayal by Anonymous:

Think of the purported fan as a worker of a rivaling entity in the entertainment industry, looking to pry up the carapace of their apparently successful business model. For his argument to hit home it wouldn’t matter if the current fans were really after any specific aspect of the image of the girls (it’s not the fans who design it anyway). But it could spell fraud – and I believe more people would find this relevant than the whole virginity issue. Moreover, depending on the reaction of the parent company, some light could be shed on the relationship between it and its idol employees (e.g. contractual/de facto standard inroads into their privacy), which might also work on the talent acquisition front.
