Nah, I think these characters are by Toshifumi Akai, the same person who did Sora no Woto, another anime blamed for copying K-On’s character design. I wouldn’t be so upset about the similarities if they didn’t obviously steal those trademark KyoAni eyes…

  That’s exactly not a direct share though… Even if Horiguchi did the Light Novel character design, the anime adaptions are usually slightly different. Take the example of Kakifly -> Yukiko Horiguchi and note the differences, albeit subtle. Horiguchi has little to do with the character design of the anime series, however.
