Comment on Mysterious Girlfriend X Finally Bares All by KiTA:

That doesn’t work with women, even anime characters, outside of poorly written ero-manga.

But more specifically, this anime is Mysterious Girlfriend X. The author of the manga has specifically said his thesis in writing the series was “Young couples today are missing out on how much fun and romantic a relationship can be before it turns sexual.”

Specifically, neither of the two main characters would ever have sex before marriage, although Urabe *specifically knows* (due to her being somewhat psychic) that she will lose her virginity to him.

Yes, we can tell you don’t care. You don’t care so much that you had to come onto a thread about the anime and comment.

Actually it’s probably a stylistic decision by the manga artist and anime team. The manga is VERY tame despite the somewhat erotic overtones, the most nudity shown so far was a single nipple during the second major story arc — which was story related. They go with the “barbie” theory of censorship in all other cases. No clue if they’ll continue that in the BD version. If the manga author has any say, yes.

So… apparently the King of the Hill team decided to do an anime? Holy crap.

20-30 times as much… But there are far, FAR more than 20-30 times as many casual gamers than hardcore gamers. See the problem?

  • Million Arthur: “A New Low Even For Square Enix”:
I hate to break it to you, but those “casual smartphone gamers” *are* the “real gamers” nowadays. It makes more economic sense to target them than it does to target an increasingly shrinking, increasingly hard to please audience of “hardcore” or “obsessive” gamers.

As long as they don’t mess with the DQ team, I’m fine with whatever. The Dragon Quest guys haven’t screwed up at all. If they want to fix something, force Nomuria / Kitase / Toriyama to actually listen to budgets, deadlines, editorial control, et cetera. They’re directly responsible for the dire state of the Final Fantasy franchise. And give the guys who made Final Fantasy Four Heroes of Light / Bravely Default a raise while you’re at it. Good work should be rewarded.

  • Lightning Returns: “Great Graphics & Questionable Fashion”:
They’re just going to keep making FF13 games until we all break down and admit FF13 was a literary masterpiece and Lightning was the most amazing waifu in videogame history, aren’t they?
