The Wiimote is my biggest pet peeve with the system. It works great for some things, but not every game is well suited to it. First party titles are good like you said, but many 3rd party developers either aren’t used to it or don’t care, so otherwise good games feel half-assed because they’re just replacing button pushes with swings, whether it works well or not.

I’m hoping the Wii U will fix this with the classic controller lookalike they’ve been showing with it, so developers don’t feel like they’re forced to use the Wiimote when it’s not the best choice.

  The reporter is clearly confused: Wii U was never meant to match any of the hardware specs of those high-powered loser machines. Only a stronger version of Wii. And of course Wii is far weaker in graphics than said machines. But it still outsold them.
