Dan Brown is a good writer, but he follows a formula. Same basic plot over and over, he just changes the theme/locations and the secondary protagonist. If you read all his books backwards and pay attention to the plot sequences, you’ll see how he developed his formula all the way back to Digital Fortress.

If you carefully read the first four novels in order, you should’ve been able to guess the ending to Lost Symbol pretty easily. Shouldn’t take you more than 2/3rds into the book.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s an entertaining author, but he needs a fresh plot line.
