*spoiler* From what I recall from the manga, that's actually one of the artillery pieces from the airport being fired, they loaded it onto the transport plane to serve as a "mobile" Anti-AA gun. Yes, you read that right, to serve as a counter against AA and being fired in mid-air out from the cargo hold. Mao's moment to shine.
