Anon 21:37- you’re right, but there’s else that’s changed. With our longer lifespans, and changes in society, children no longer “grow up”, emotionally, as fast as they did back then.

Modern kids live in a sort of “extended childhood” from ages 0 to 18 (or 21, or …), and most teens just aren’t /emotionally-ready/ for sex.

I don’t claim that hardship is good for kids, but when you have to worry about the crops dying, rounding up strayed livestock, and fending off Indian attacks, trivial shit such as, “Do you know what that bitch-ho said about me?!” falls right off the bottom of the list.
