While I do think copyright laws need to be greatly scaled back, I don’t think I can get too mad at Toei for this. They could’ve brought the hammer down on fans SO many times before this and for much, much worse things. For them to occasionally say “ok, look, we aren’t going to let this slide”–eh. It may suck, but it’s way more reasonable than freaking Disney.

  I can actually understand why Ranma-chan is there. Maybe in regular situations it’s no big deal, but when the animators wanted to really show those things off (second movie comes to mind) they sure did a real good job at it. That said, Mikuru beating out Fujiko just ain’t right.

• Puella Magi Madoka Magica Sayaka Miki Figure:
  

  Although she wasn’t my favorite character, I actually liked Sayaka’s design the most. I’m all for frills and ultra girlishness, but the “knight” type look is also appealing in its own right.
