The pantsu are an important part of Mikoto Urabe’s “uniform”, as it’s where she keeps her legendary scissors.

I agree that you don’t need to see pantsu for it to be sexy, but as far as panty shots go, MYSTERIOUS GIRLFRIEND X’s are super-tame compared to the moist cameltoe or full peach groove shots of most other late-night anime that do show pantsu.

  A lot of people hear about this creepy fanservice show and are surprised to find they like it, but it’s not as surprising if you know that it’s based on a manga from Kodansha’s Monthly AFTERNOON, which generally only publishes stories with more substance than those fanservicey manga designed solely to titillate. (Other great Afternoon titles include YOKOHAMA SHOPPING LOG and AH MY GODDESS.) Not that I’m denying the fanservice, but there’s more to it than just fanservice.
