With fuss over the content of late night anime as vociferous as ever, anime fans have been pondering the question of whether there really are any late night anime titles which are safe for family viewing, and if so, what they are.

whatever the reason or the genre they dont know that i watched those kind of anime e.g. higurashi,elfen,DMWLand or any oppai anime, for my parents anime is just cartoons then cartoons is for kids so anime is for kids which is WRONG1
I would agree with the parents on this one. Why not Fullmetal Alchemist? That would make more sense, and could later on ease them into Elfen Lied with other titles, but no, you didn't.
Elfen Lied is a awesome show, but you clearly gave them the wrong example of a good anime. Use some tact Yan and maybe your parents would respect your opinion more if you were more sensitive to the shows you claim you love.

Aside for porn, I watch everything on the living room tv. My mother, who's in her 60's, has watched everything I have (ranging from Lilpri to Qwaser to KISSxSIS). Much of the anime she's watched, she's enjoyed. =/ People need to grow up and stop being prudes about everything.

Some parents aren't exactly as accepting of things as other parents. My parents are pretty easy going about that stuff but my Mom almost spat out what she was drinking when she saw the cover of the third volume of Mahou Sensei Negima. I've watch a lot of anime with her though, like Gundam Seed, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, and a few other things, but I know there's stuff she just won't like so I don't share it with her.
