Comment on Tokyo Disneyland Allows Gay Marriage by Anonymous:

Here in Brazil, the 1989 constitution says explicitly that “marriage is a social contract between a man and a woman”.

But recently the Brazilian Suppreme Court ruled out that, in the spirit of the 1989 constitution, that rules out churce interference in state, provides (at least in paper) equal opportunities to everyone (first one to do that) and such, has decided that the “man and woman” part is merely a dictionary definition, so they allowed civil marriage between gay Brazilian couples.

The religious extremists (who also has a grand presence in the Brazilian Congress) where the only to complain. The other people were on set for jokes like “why don’t you marry: now you can!”. :-D
