They had no grounds for dismissing her due to criminal charges as she was never charged!

They would have had better luck dismissing her by any other made up reason~! If employment laws there allow for dismissal without reasons with notice and/or severance benefits then that would have been a better bet.

Alternatively use something more solid like bringing the profession into disrepute.
