Late night anime is otaku anime. Who else watches or records a show at 2am?

Late night anime has become so geared to “Type B” fans, that “Type A” fans don’t tune in and therefore plot-oriented anime have a hard time reaching their potential fans.

In that respect, anime is becoming like American comics. American comic book stores became so geared to superhero comics, that only superhero-fans went into the stores, and therefore other genres of comics couldn’t reach their potential audience.
