Comment on “With Figures This Good, Who Needs Girlfriends!” by Anonymous:

@1:24 Yes, it is possible. Personally I prefer actually having a girlfriend (yeah, and I’m visiting SC for amusement; go figure), but then again, I got lucky when it comes to that one matter, and most of my friends had enough problems with girls to make me see the whole thing clearly.

The point is, you can be proud of that. But only if it’s what you really want. If you really don’t care about girls and are content with being on your own, it’s your own choice and thus something you should be proud of. I am proud because I’ve a girl that is better than the “average” you would meet nowadays (because she doesn’t care about money that much), but in the past I was proud of the fact that I was on my own, and I didn’t see anything wrong with it. Heck, if I only met “average” girls, that one wouldn’t have changed, because many of them are just a greedy waste of oxygen.
If you perceive yourself as a loser, on the other hand, then it is not something to be proud of. Then again, what exactly is a “loser”? Is it a person not in a committed relationship? Someone who doesn’t pursue such a relationship? Someone who likes collecting figurines and posters? Someone who actually manages to stand by his own opinion? I call bullshit on that, because such a person is not a loser, unless he allows himself to become one; if you do become a shut-in because you stop caring about human contact, then you are likely to be a loser, but normally, there’s no reason for that to be the case (after all, figurines and posters are just hobbies, you do have a normal life outside of your hobby).
