Actually that wall is of a very poor design and should be curved at the ends to push an impacting vehicle back onto the road vs act like a knife.
Also also is common practice in the US and Europe for the edges of such walls to have energy absorbing crush sections.
I also find the design of the bus it’s self to be suspect as well as it should have more anti intrusion structure and it appears it also would be unsafe during a roll over.

@ Anon 22.50 Americans generally do not have higher number of accidents per mile then people in other countries such as Germany or Japan. The problem is Americans usually drive more miles per year then most other people which makes them statistically more likely to be involved in an accident. It’s simple mathematics the more often you do something like lets say play a slot machine the greater your chances a rare event like a jackpot will happen.

They are generally safer then in a car due to a driver who is usually better trained at road safety then the general public and the mass of the vehicle. This is likely mostly due to drivers being over worked and a badly designed bridge wall both of which hopefully will be rectified.

If the driver is going to be on duty for 14 hours strait maybe you should be. I remember when they had this problem with airlines and they had to pass rules on allowing the pilots to get enough sleep and have breaks. Some where even sleeping in the cockpit and letting the auto pilot fly the plane which is ok until something goes wrong or it goes in for a preprogrammed landing while the runways were busy or closed.
- 7 Die in Bus Smash – “How Did Anyone Survive That!?”:
Aircraft can fly themselves but a pilot is still there in case something goes wrong. But ironically flying is actually easier for a robot then driving as it does not have to consider a cluttered environment. The big issue with road vehicles is two fold cost and maintenance. The cost of true triple redundancy even it it costs a few million dollars to implement is not an issue for an airliner that may cost over $200+ million. For a car even 5K extra can mean the difference between making a profit …

Then you’d have people getting ran over, hackers, killer BSODs,failed sensors, and missing magnets in the road as new problems.

EA is actually part of the problem they’re the one’s wanting unreasonable licensing for their games that precludes used games. Really they could have said no and EA would have been forced to agree with terms that don’t shaft the user.

Maybe but keep in mind it may be X86 but in someways it’s even more fundamentally different from a PC then the 360 is. Getting a port on the 360 often meant just a recompile and changing a few lines of code. Xenon had just a few very fast threads likea typical PC CPU. The Xbox One is a very parallel machine. The 8 core Jagaur is very multi threaded but each individual thread is relatively slow think an Intel Atom but you got eight of them. This means a direct port of a game that runs on one or …

Actually they can totally afford to have this crash and burn but can the brand survive the damage. It seems generation 8 is turning out to be generation not so great.

Funny things all those games are absolute shit. But then that’s how facebook makes their money they let you post silly pics to imaginary friends and give you free crappy games to play in exchange for your personal information which they sell to marketing firms and even shadier operations. In reality any one who uses FB is being shafted.

Also so cheap they could not hire good engineers to make a true next generation console. Really too cheap to pay IBM to make a six core Xenon or go with a real X86 chip and a separate GPU? Also apparently too cheap to allow use of used games. It’s only salvation is if pirates crack this thing wide open like they did the original Xbox. Yes some times piracy actually helps over all sales.
