  I believe what he’s trying to say is that only Americans with their sub-par tastes in manga and anime would be able to enjoy Bleach (and a number of other series Japan wouldn’t bat an eye at). Bleach originating in Japan is already a given and the point is that the native audience appreciates it far less than the foreign audiences, namely the Americans in this case and I agree.
