Wolf girl is actually another Elf, and in particular the sister of the rude male.

She also doesn’t say that the bread from the other person is better. Just that she’s had bread by the other baker (kinda reminds me of a stereotypical witch or the local midwife actually, rather than a baker) and thus knows her and later on wonders if they’re her pupils.

Which seems likely, considering they make reference to the ingredients used by the Old Lady, and of which they don’t have enough. Hence why they even end up in the forest in the first place, to go look for more ingredients themselves.
